As the name and the angel on the bottle suggest, Cumulus are proud of their Soaring range and the elevation of their vineyard site. In fact, this vineyard is the highest planted in the whole of Australia. Rich sedimentary volcanic soils have evolved over millions of years, making for an extremely fertile and unique wine growing area. The wines produced in the region are ‘cool climate’ varieties, and go against typical styles found in Australia. This wine was awarded 95pt by the International Wine and Spirits Challenge.
Tasting notes:
A fresh, zesty wine with rounded, rich oak influences and warm stone fruit flavours
The Perfect Serve:
Opt for a light chill on this wine, think traditional cellar temperature rather than ice cold. The Cumulus Chardonnay will pair beautifully with creamy risotto, buttery prawns, creamy pasta, a big roast chickem, and even white meat like pork.
