Located close to the Danube River in Southern Slovakia near the Hungarian border, Château Belá’s 20ha vineyard estate has been producing wines since 2001. Though, it’s history is ancient, with the first vines planted at this incredible Château first planted by the Romans. Under the supervision of one of the world's most acclaimed winemakers, German superstar Egon Müller, Château Béla is home to some of Slovakia's finest Rieslings, even competing with the likes of Alsace, Austria and Germany in terms of quality.. The variety known locally as Rizling Rýnsky, yields wines noted for the energetic drive, purity of fruit and minerality on the palate. In addition to their stunning Rieslings, Château Béla is also renowned for their bold, robust Cabernet Sauvignon as well as their sweet straw and ice wines. Major renovations were undertaken to restore the 300year old underground cellar at the Castle, upon Egon Müller’s request - the natural cellars are the most traditional way of preserving library stock; with a cool and stable temperature, quiet, still and with a slight humidity, the wines can age gracefully for decades, as per the the Burgundians, Champenois and those who producer wines in Tokaj, Hungary.
